Rep. Bonner Votes to Freeze Pay for President, Congress and Federal Workers PDF Print E-mail

U.S. Representative Jo Bonner, R-Alabama voted Friday to freeze pay for Congress, President Obama and all federal workers.

"With another record budget deficit and a looming sequester which threatens every corner of America, it makes no sense for the president, Congress and the federal government to be granted a pay raise.  Congress has actually frozen its own pay for four years in a row and President Obama's recent disingenuous attempt to raise Congressional pay by executive order was inappropriate.  During these tough economic times in which too many Americans are still struggling, I joined with a majority of the House today in voting to continue to freeze pay for Members of Congress, the president and federal workers."
